Butter paneer is the most popular dish in Punjabi Cuisine and you will see it on the table in every party. Here is the easy and simple recipe for you. You will surely love it.
Paneer ....... 200gms.
Onion ......... 1
Tomato puree......... 1 cup
Cashew powder...... 1/4 th cup
Cream ................. 1/2 cup
Tomato ketchup .... 1 tbsp.
Jeera powder ..... 1 tsp.
Red chilli powder .... 1tsp.
Red colour ............... a pinch
Salt ..................... to taste
Butter .............. 2-3 tbsp.
Oil .
Method:
1. Cut the paneer into cubes and deep fry a little.
2.Fry the onion to a light pink colour, add a little water and simmer it till cooked. Grind it.
3. Heat the butter and a little oil in a pan and add the cashew powder. Fry for a minute and add all the other ingredients except the cream.
4. Add the paneer and a little water and simmer it till done.
5. Finally stir in the cream.

DeleteEarlier when I was in SP the best brand of ricota was "Campo Lindo"... but I came to know that it is not available these days. check out with Deepali which one she uses.Making it at home is also simple and best. Just boil the milk, curdle it by adding lime juice or vinegar. Drain out the water in a muslin cloth and place a heavy thing on it. When it is set, remove from the cloth and cut into pieces.
