CHATPATA PUFFED QUINOA (CHURMURI)

I had gone for grocery shopping and found  the puffed quinoa...thought I'll try making churmuri, sukhi bhel with it. Churmuri is crunchy, tangy and spiced according to your taste. In Kolkata it is called Jhal Muri and they use mustard oil for seasoning, which gives a distinct flavour to it. It is a popular street food in India and usually served in paper cones.

Ingredients:
Puffed quinoa ...... 2 cups
Roasted Peanuts ... 1-2 tbsps.
Onion ........... 2-3 tbsps. (finely chopped)
Tomato ........ 2 tbsps. ( remove seeds and core, cut into tiny pieces)
Green chillies .. 1 chopped finely (I have used 1 tsp chilli pickle)
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Salt .......... to taste
Red chilli powder .. 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder ... 1/8 tsp
Lemon juice ... 1 tbsp.
Oil ..... 1 tbsp.

Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan. Add the turmeric powder and immediately put the puffed quinoa.

2. Keep stirring on low flame for a few minutes until they become crunchy.

3. Stir in all the remaining ingredients.

4. Check the salt and squeeze the lime juice. Mix well and serve immediately.

Pin for later
