Ingredients for Halwa :
Apples .... 2
Kiwis ..... 2
Sugar ..... 1/2 cup ( you can increase or reduce the quantity according to your taste )
Cardamom powder ..1/4 tsp
Ghee .... 2-3 tbsps
Nuts ... for garnishing ( you can use cashews / pistachios / almonds )
1. Peel and grate the apples.
2. Peel the kiwis and remove the seedy part (core). Grind them in a mixie.
3. Heat 2 tbsps ghee and saute the fruits together until the liquid dries up.
4. Add the sugar and cardamom powder and keep stirring until the halwa is thick and gets a shine.
Ingredients For Tarts:
Flour .. 1 cup
Butter .. 6 tbsps
Sugar ... 2 tbsps
Salt ..... 1/4 tsp ( or little less )
Method:
1. Combine all the ingredients to make a soft dough.
2. Roll out the dough.
3. Grease the tart moulds with removable bottom and sprinkle a little flour.
4. Place the rolled dough over the moulds pressing it gently to form a shape.
5. Cut out the excess dough from the sides. Prick the tarts all over with a fork.
6. Bake them in a pre-heated oven until golden brown. ( about 12 - 15 mins.)
7. Remove from the oven and let them cool before filling them.
8. Fill with the apple & kiwi halwa and sprinkle a little pistachio powder over it . You can also decorate with a little cherry if you have it.
Note: The baking time may vary according to the size and type of the oven..
