This is a mildly spiced snack specially for those who don't like spicy food. The chicken pieces are marinated with cream and a blend of flavourful spice powders.
Ingredients:
Boneless chicken .. 200 gms. (for best results use the boneless leg/thigh portion cut into cubes)Cream .......... 4-5 tbsps
Garlic paste ... 1 tbsp
Cumin powder .... 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon powder .. 1/4 tsp
Nutmeg powder ... 2-3 pinches
Cardamom powder .. 1/8 tsp (or crush 4-5 cardamoms and add to the marinade)
Lemon juice ... 1 tbsp
Salt .... to taste
Oil ..... 1 tbsp
Ghee/butter ... 1 tbsp ( to smear while grilling)
Satay sticks... 5-6 ( soaked in water for an hour)
Method:
1. Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients mentioned above except Ghee/butter at least for an hour. But better to marinate for few hours.
2. Pre-heat the oven.
3. Thread the chicken pieces into the sticks. Grill them for 10 - 15 minutes turning the side once. Smear a little ghee/butter both sides towards the end. (The time of cooking may vary depending on the oven)
4. Hold the sticks over the gas flame to give it a tandoor finish/look.
Serve hot as a snack or with naans/rumali rotis.
