ReplyDeleteYes, it tastes so good with plain rice and appalam. Thanks
DeleteShobha this is a mouthwatering and tempting recipe. A curry where no lentils are used and the star ingredient is garlic. Will have to give this poondu kuzhambu a try. I am guessing the amount is enough for 2.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mayuri. Having lived in South India I have a liking towards these tangy Kuzhambu gravy. This one with garlic is really nice. Yes, this is sufficient for 2 people as the tangy and spicy gravy cannot be consumed more.
DeletePoondu kuzhambu is a big hit in most Tamil homes. Piping hot rice with poondu kuzhambu and appalams are a heavenly combination. People literally go crazy over this and they say it tastes even better when had it the next day as the flavors steep in really well
ReplyDeleteYes Priya, kuzhambu always tastes better the next day as all the flavours are infused into the gravy. I love it with rice and appalams too.
DeletePoondu Kozhambu is so flavorful and delicious. One of the hot favorite recipes at my place as hubby loves it.We make it when we are bored of the regular curries and dals.Just need some rice and papad to polish it off.
ReplyDeleteTrue Preethi. It is my favourite too but hubby doesn't like tangy and spicy food and I feel lazy to make it just for myself.
DeleteGarlic curry sounds absolutely mouthwatering. Never tried before. An excellent recipe for garlic lovers. Bookmarking to try soon.
ReplyDeleteDo make this curry Sujata. It really is very good.
DeleteThis looks so good. I bet this would be perfect over steamed rice on a cold day, and so very healthy too!
ReplyDeleteYes Rinku. Garlic is very good for health.
DeleteWow! what a delicious curry! I have to try making it soon with eggs of coure but will love it with shrimp.
ReplyDeleteArchana, try this one which has only garlic cloves as a key ingredient.
DeleteWhat an interesting recipe. I like that you have added coconut to the curry. It must help reduce the strong pungency from the garlic. Plus you get all the health benefits of garlic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mina. Most of the South Indian curries have coconut in them.
